Hybrid Cultures Borderless Practice

A research visit to South Korea exploring working across borders and creating hybrid cultural works. The images below show some of South Korea’s Uninhabited Islands and an exhibition at Culture Lab showing sculptural musical instruments collaborating with Silk Moths. The project explored some of the remaining towns dedicated to silk production in South Korea and wider naturecultures. A performance took place at MMCA, artists were invited back to teach workshops and perform at Culture Lab, Newcastle University. A collaboration emerged between a Korean musician, Hyunjong Yun and myself, resulting in a presentation of the work at Sounding Out The Space, Dundalk University.
